Dr. Betbeze is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) and an associate clinical professor of comparative ophthalmology at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, her alma mater.
She completed a residency and master’s degree in comparative ophthalmology at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, becoming board-certified in ophthalmology that same year. She founded the ophthalmology program at Mississippi State University in 2013 after spending six years in private specialty practice, and she is the service chief of the ophthalmology department and course coordinator of the specialty medicine rotation at MSU, which includes ophthalmology, dermatology, and oncology.
She has served the ACVO on the public relations, governance, genetics, and exam committees, and she is currently a member of the Board of Regents of the ACVO, which will culminate in the presidency position of the ACVO. She recently received the Dean’s Pegasus Award for Service and the Mississippi State University Division of Agriculture, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine Superior Service Award for her work at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
She has authored and edited several book chapters and scientific articles and frequently lectures to veterinarians on a local, regional, and national level.
